Fingerprints is an innovative three-level course in American English which offers
pre-school children a hands-on approach to language learning.
Fingerprints has been designed to appeal to children’s interests and address their
all-round development. It features:
4[: a controlled language syllabus based on nine child-centered themes
cross-curricular activities to stimulate language use in the context of other
subject areas
tf: full-color stickers to reinforce key vocabulary
an extensive program of songs, chants and dialogs
a well known fairytale, which children can prepare as an end-of-year production.
For the teacher, the interleaved Teacher’s Guide provides:
9': full support for planning and assessment
4': vocabulary games in every unit
ideas for an interactive bulletin board featuring displays and open-ended
practice activities
4'- options for further developing early literacy.
Each level of Fingerprints consists of a Student Book, Activity Book, Teacher’s Guide
and Audio Program (available on cassette or CD). Posters and Picture Cards for use
with all three levels are contained in the Activity Pack, and an interactive CD-ROM
allows children to practice and review language at their own pace.
Two additional series of activity workbooks follow the
syllabus of Fingerp rints, to further consolidate the
language presented. First Letters supports and extends
the early literacy strand of Fingerp rin ts, while
First Numbers develops basic number and math skills.
