1. chien-ming wang: he was the ace for the yankees in the past couple of years. finished 2nd in cy young voting in his sophomore season. inning eating sinkerballer. gives yankees quality inning and stability.

2. hong-chih kuo: flamethrowing lefty setup man for the dodgers. started a playoff game in 2006 before injuries forced him to become a reliever

3. chin-hui tsao: he and jeff francis were the future of the rockies. after dominating the minors, he flamed out in coors park and was injured. after being converted to a closer in 2005, he was injured. pitched effectively as a reliever with the dodgers in '07 before injuries resurfaced. currently playing in taiwan.

4. chin-feng chen: slugging outfielder is the 1st taiwanese player in the big league. after shuffling back and forth between triple-a and big league, he went back to taiwan.

5. chin-lung hu: incredible defender in the infield. eye problems caused him to bat ineffectively last year. currently back in triple-a


korea

1. chan ho park: before he became a laughingstock with the rangers. park was the ace of the dodgers staff in the late '90s.

2. byung-hyun kim: incredible submarine closer for the d-backs in the early 2000s. after being converted to a starter, he became a journeyman who bounced between starting and relieving. hasn't played since 2007.

3. hee-seop choi: top prospect and power hitting slugger for the cubs. after his collision with kerry wood, he was never the same. never fulfilled his potential. currently playing in korea

4. shin-soo choo: didn't get the chance in seattle. had a breakout last season

5. jae seo: had phenomenal seasons in 2003 and 2005 with the mets. after getting traded in the offseason in 2005, he was never the same. currently playing in korea

6. sun-woo kim: durable swingman with mediocre control who can eat innings had a decent season in 2004. never found consistency

7. jung bong: a prospect with the braves in the early 2000s. he flopped and is back in korea

8. cha seung baek: currently projected to be in the padres rotation.


japan

1. ichiro suzuki: a household name throughout the world. mvp and rookie of the year in 2001. first asian position player in the big league. one of the best leadoff man in history.

2. hideki matsui: one of the most fearsome sluggers in japan. his power is declining.

3. hideo nomo: first japanese player in recent memory. rookie of the year in 1995 and started the all-star game. soon faded but had a minor renaissance in the early 2000s.

4. kazuhiro sasaki: in his prime, he was one of the premiere closer in both japan and the US. 2000 rookie of the year. 2 time all-star

5. kazuhisa ishii: he had an incredible start in his major league career in 2002. after being struck in the face in september, 2002, was never the same

6. daisuke matsuzaka: the most hyped asian player since ichiro showed flashes of brilliance, but is still adapting.

7. kazuo matsui: after signing a lucrative contract with the mets, he was regarded as a bust despite hitting home runs in his 1st plate appearances in the 04, 05, and 06 season. seems to have found his niche after moving from shortstop to 2nd base

8. tomo ohka: he was a great pitcher in 2002. completely fell apart after 2005.

9. tadahito iguchi: had a great rookie year in 2005 then slowly fell apart. won a world series in his rookie year and again with the phillies last year but wasn't on the roster.

10. tsuyoshi shinjo: along with ichiro, the first asian position players in the mlb. wasn't even that great in japan. he was a bust.

11. hideki irabu: he was hyped as the next great asian import and was signed by the yankees. he was the greatest strikeout pitcher in japan, but flamed out in the big league. had a horrible rookie season then became serviceable but never found his niche.

12. shigetoshi hasegawa: setup man for seattle. made the all-star team in 2003

13. takashi saito: 2007 all-star. great strikeout closer. lost his closer job due to injuries. currently with red sox

14. kosuke fukudome: he opened his mlb career in dramatic fashion last year but was largely ineffective down the stretch. has plate discipline but lacks power

15. akinori otsuka: solid setup man/closer for padres/rangers before injuries forced him out last year. attempting a comeback

16. hiroki kuroda: solid inning eater for the dogers

17. hideki okajima: another great japanese setup man

18. kenji johjima: 1st japanese catcher completely fell apart last year

19. akinori iwamura: solid starting infielder for the devil rays

20. mac suzuki: one of the pioneer of japanese players in the mlb. was mediocre in the mid 1990s to early 2000s.

21. kei igawa: yankees' answers to red sox's acquisition of matsuzaka. regarded as a bust and is currently in the minors

22. kazuhito tadano: showed flashes. played in mlb at first because of a gay porn video scandal

23. so taguchi: journeyman won 2 world series ring with the cardinals and phillies

I always thought the purpose of Yahoo answers was for somebody to ask the question so others could answer it.


By the way: There are plenty of excellent Asian players you didn't mention. They just haven't played in the Major Leagues.
